| Dear Professor Ohnishi, We, Mrs. Neevanh and myself safely arrived in Laos on August 6th, 2010 evening. From the conducted 40-day program, I have learned about Japanese lessons in economic development, Japanese culture and adjusted myself with a living condition in Kyoto, and also learned about transition economy in China, East-European countries and lessons from such countries. The excursion activities were also interesting and made us closely to understand in history aspects. In addition, I have a good chance to have more Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese friends that we can keep in touch and exchange news and information more and more. I, personally, think that this program is very interesting and useful for me and my work place to use knowledge and experiences gained and select suitable lesson to improve our organization’s performance in the future. I do hope that the important program will be extended so that other students will have chance to participate in the future. Thank you very much for your support and hospitality during our stay in Kyoto. With best regards, Thong THAMMALAT |

| Dear my friends who are living in Japan and Vietnam, I hope this letter finds all of you in the best of health and spirit. Wherever we are, I still believe that we will be good friends forever. I am so glad that the nice trip to Sakai and Nara last time has given us deep memories of each others. I would like to send a warmly thank to Prof. Ohnishi and Mr. Tazoe who did have a hard time to prepare for our trip. With a study program in 40 days in Japan, I have not only received useful knowledge for my work but also achieved more experiences in team work, in changing scientific information using foreign language and how to build global friendship. Kyoto University is truly a famous university in the world. I will never forget the central library which always shines with lights, the ancient clock tower, and the green foliage in front of it… I have increased my understanding of Japan, especially beautiful and traditional Ancient Kyoto. I think I fell in love with Kyoto and really look forward to having a chance to come back there soon. I hope this program would continue the following years, so that more young researchers like me could come visit Tokyo to cultivate valuable knowledge as well as enrich life experiences. Best wishes to all of you! Yours sincerely, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Trang |

| I am very glad to met the students from Laos and Vietnam. Thanks for Pro.Ohnishi and Mr.Tazoe! We had seen some traditional handicraft business in Kyoto. Why so many traditional handicraft business can survive in the industrialized country? The people want to have some thing different from what they use in daily live.So the traditional handicraft business have a special market. But now Japanese economy can not growth as it did,How to concentrate resource to make growth is the main problem. So people have no money to buy the traditional handicrafts as they did.It is a difficult time for Japanese traditional handicraft business. We had Gone to see the large tomb and the large temple.Political factor is very important in feudal system.People made the large building is not for benefit or beauty, they made it for power. All the world, people are same. All of them need economy for life. They have different mentality and behavior in different society. We can find new questions in economic theory by communicate with foreigner. Thanks for all of you!And continue the communication! |

| The second trip we went to visit the capitals which have a longer history than Kyoto.I like the museum in Osaka best.Because my major is Japanese Economic History,I am very interested at the economic situation of Japan in ancient times.I can learn more than the description on the literatures there. And through the pictures and models,we can imagine the prosperity of ancient Osaka, which has the first future trading market in the world. And there is also a signboard of the exchange rate of gold and silver to show us the prosperity of financing trade. | |||

| Thanks for Professor Ohnishi to invite me to these tow trips, although I cannot take the lectures with you guys for some personal reason.I feel sorry about that deeply. But I am so happy to join the trips and get the chance to meet you all.I really appreciate your passion.I wish we can meet each other again someday. The first trip we visit some place about the traditional industries in Kyoto. As Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over 1000 years, perhaps we can see them as the representation of Japan's traditional industries. And the high level of skill and technology in some fields are really amazing. The fact that the folding fun was invented in Japan is also impressive. And we had a chance to try to make something by ourselves, too. |

|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Yu Shen | Date | 2010-08-08 |
| It's me again, and I want to share my feeling about the trip now. Actually, we saw too much in the short two days. So many things we experienced, so many time we shared and so many memories we got. To thank for our precious meet, the most good is exchange the ideas and discuss them, right? I think many things we saw was made for power maintenance but not for use. Emperor's tomb, Toudaiji and so on were produced by huge amount of labor force and resouce. But it's aim is to control people's mind and ideology but not benefit people. In Feudalism, maintenance and succession is very important because of the frequent war and conflicts between social stratification. I think the reason for the frequent war and conflicts is the low production ability. So as Marx said, production ability determines the social construction. To conclude, Thanks Pro.Ohnishi's teaching and thanks everyone. I had a very nice time in the trip. After meeting you, I become curious about Vietnam and Laos and hope to visit there. I believe the day will come and we may meet again oneday, maybe in Guangzhou?! Never say goodbye, Let's say farewell. yours Yu |

| Name | Yu Shen | Date | 2010-08-08 |
| Hello everyone. I am Yu Shen, who is the Master one student in Graduate School of Economics, kyoto university. First, I want to thank Professor Ohnishi for giving us the chance to learn about kyoto’s traditional craft arts. And also thank my dear Vietnam and Laos friends to join the whole exclusion with us. In both the Museum visits and scarf making, we saw the elegant art crafts and appreciated the power of people's high skills. It comes from craftman's repeating operation and abundant experience I think. The process for making goods was succeeded and improved generation by generation, and it's exactly what people in Feudalism Era did I think. Different from direct production from human, in Capitalism, people uses machine to make goods, which enlarges production and reduces the number of the poor. When I saw some craftmen displaying goods making fluently and efficiently, what I think is that it's funny that machine not only makes us rich and powerful, but also makes us incompetent and inability. Now people can not make a complete good but only can complete one of processes of the production maybe. It's what I think through the exclusion. Hoping to see more experience sharing from you. Yours Yu |

| Dear Professor Hiroshi Ohnishi, I have just come back to Hanoi and I am writing to you to thank your helps and Professors, staffs and students from Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University when I was in Kyoto. It is a good opportunity for me to understand Economics and Japanese lifestyle. I am interesting in the lectures of yours and other Professors. It makes me more understand about economics of transition, Japanese and Chinese economy and so on. Especially, I am interesting in your approach when studying human history. Stressing main differences between the Feudalism and Capitalism, formalize an economy makes human history more be cleared and corrected. Beside the lessons in the class, I had excursions to handicraft center and Sakai and Nara. From that, I had experienced about human history in general and Japan in particular. They are valuable knowledge for my work and my life. And I hope, in the future, I will be listened to your lectures again. Once again, thank you very much. Sincerely, Cao Thu Hang PhD. | Thank Professor Ohnishi for providing us the access to kyoto’s traditional craft arts. In Kyoto museum of traditional crafts, we saw various types of traditional craft arts in Kyoto, including Kyo Yuzen, Kyo Ningyo, Nishijin Ori, and so on. I was impressed deeply by the stylishness of all the crafts. We all know that Kyoto flourished as the center of Japanese culture and history for over a millennium. In this city we can sense Japan’s historical essence and the splendor of each era’s culture. Kyoto’s traditional industries have had a significant impact on Japanese culture and traditions. These aspects of Japanese cultural life have been transmitted to present, and still play a role in the lives of Kyoto's people. |

Hopefully, we can continue our interactions here!
