【Target Research Fields】
Fields related to Finance, Accounting, or Governance
【Eligibility criteria】
Individuals who meet the following two conditions:
- Students, graduate students, researchers, and faculty members affiliated with Japanese universities (excluding research students and non-degree students). The applicant’s country of residence is disregarded.
- Individuals who have not obtained a doctoral degree or have obtained it within the past 10 years (applicants who obtained a doctoral degree more than 10 years ago but are under 40 years old, are also eligible to apply).
<<If you are applying as a team, the team representative must meet the above conditions, and the rest of the team members must meet one of the following conditions>>
- Should be students affiliated with undergraduate schools or graduate schools in Japanese or international universities.
- Individuals enrolled or employed in Japanese or international companies, government agencies, or academic research institutions such as universities.
※ Past recipients of the Corporate Finance Research Encouragement Award (Mizuho Securities Endowment) are also eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants may simultaneously apply for the awards offered by Graduate School of Management. However, the selection committee will take these factors into consideration during the evaluation process.
【Award Benefits】
〇 Grand Award
- One award will be granted in each field for exceptionally excellent papers.
- Cash prize of up to 500,000 yen per award.
〇 Excellence Award
- One award will be granted in each field for papers with promising future development and deserve encouragement.
- Cash prize of up to 250,000 yen per award.
【Deadline】
Must arrive by October 31, 2025 (Friday)
【Selection Process】
The document screening will be conducted by the selection committee established by Kyoto University Graduate School of Management, Department of Corporate Finance Research Encouragement Award, and will determine the award recipients as well as the amount of the research grant.
Selection Committee: January 2026
The result will be emailed to each applicant immediately after the decision has been made.
