(Title):

”Professions in the age of artificial intelligence: Disruption and innovation”

Abstract :

The recent evolution of AI is bringing about significant changes in professions.
Traditional professions functioned as a system in which experts with specialized education and qualifications developed their own professional ethics while gaining special status, thereby disseminating specialized knowledge and services to society. However, AI is gradually surpassing humans even in specialized tasks.
What changes will AI bring to individual professionals, their firms and professions? How can human expertise evolve in the age of AI? Is the professional institution sustainable?
This seminar will summarize research trends in management studies (primarily organizational theory) regarding the above issues and report on empirical research in Japan by the speaker from diverse perspectives, including identity, sensemaking and service R&D.
