"Built to Innovate: Essential Practices to Wire Innovation into Your Company's DNA"

Abstract: 
Professor Ben M. Bensaou is Professor of Management of Technology and Professor of Asian Business and Comparative Management at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, where he is Dean of the School of Executive Education, 2018-2020.He was a Visiting Associate Professor at Harvard Business School, 1998-1999. Senior Fellow, Wharton School of Business, 2007-2008; and Visiting Scholor, Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, 2013-2015.
He received his PhD in Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management (Cambridge, USA), an M.B.A. from Hitotsubashi University (Tokyo, Japan), an MSc in Civil Engineering from Ecole Nationale des TPE, Lyon and DEA in Mechanical Engineering from the Institut Nationale Polytechnique de Grenoble (Grandes Écoles, France).
He is a leading expert on innovation and how to build, maintain, and enhance the innovative capacity of firms. His book Built to Innovate: Essential Practices to Wire Innovation into Your Company's DNA (2021, McGraw-Hill) details his systematic approach. He defines specific innovative practices and roles for employees of organizations such as Japanese companies, provides a methodology of tools and processes for innovation, and presents numerous vivid case studies illustrating the most dramatic benefits possible. In addition, the book has been selected as one of the Thinkers50 Top 10 Best New Management Books of 2022.
In this seminar, Professor Bensaou will talk about his international career, behind-the-scenes of his research and education at INSEAD and other institutions, and his motivations and intentions behind the publication of this book. It will be of interest to a wide range of MBAs and those involved in corporate training and education who are interested in connecting business administration and practice.
