Title:
"The Reverse Innovation of Convenience Stores"
Abstract:
As a form of business model innovation in emerging markets, this study examines the reality of the international transfer of convenience stores from the perspective of reverse innovation through case analysis. The convenience store model, originally developed in the United States, was adopted and transformed by Japan, and the Japanese-style convenience store was then reverse-transferred back to the U.S. This model was subsequently transferred to various Asian countries, gradually becoming a global standard. As a result of the reverse innovation phenomenon, convenience stores with different styles were created in each country where they expanded. This research actively explores the true essence of this phenomenon.
