自己紹介

I am a full professor of Economics at Kyoto University. I obtained my Ph.D. from University College Dublin (Ireland) and was a Professor in Italy at the University of Bologna prior to coming to Japan. I have published in international journals such as Economic Journal, the Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of International Economics, and Journal of Development Economics. I was the principal investigator of several projects during my career, such as European Commission’s FP7 project INGINEUS on Global Innovation Networks and the Italian Ministry of Education PRIN project on New Protectionist Policies: Political Determinants and Economic Consequences. My research interests focus on international trade and institutions, and include topics such as intellectual property rights, global value chains, migration, innovation, and the economics of religion and culture. My main teaching activities have usually been on topics in international trade. I was also the director of the bachelor’s degree in economics of Tourism at the University of Bologna for 4 years.
私は京都大学の経済学の正教授です。アイルランドのユニバーシティ・カレッジ・ダブリンで博士号（Ph.D.）を取得し、日本に来る前はイタリアのボローニャ大学で教授を務めていました。これまでに、Economic Journal、Journal of Economic Growth、Journal of International Economics、Journal of Development Economics などの国際学術誌に論文を発表しています。 これまでのキャリアにおいて、欧州委員会の第7次フレームワーク計画（FP7）のグローバル・イノベーション・ネットワーク（INGINEUS）プロジェクトや、イタリア教育省のPRINプロジェクト「新保護主義政策：政治的要因と経済的影響」など、複数の研究プロジェクトの主任研究者を務めました。私の研究関心は国際貿易と制度を中心に、知的財産権、グローバル・バリュー・チェーン、移民、イノベーション、宗教・文化の経済学など多岐にわたります。これまでの教育活動では、主に国際貿易に関する講義を担当してきました。また、ボローニャ大学では4年間、観光経済学の学士課程のディレクターを務めました。
