 Academic Background: Asli M. Colpan is Professor of Corporate Strategy at the Graduate School of Management and Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University. She was the Alfred Chandler Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School in 2016. She is also affiliated to Koc University’s College of Administrative Science and Economics as a Visiting Professor. Previously, she was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and MIT in the 2012-13 academic year, and at Koc University in 2015.

 

Research Activities: Her research interests include corporate strategy, corporate governance, business history, and especially the evolution of large enterprises in developed and emerging economies. Her work has been published in such journals as Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Management Journal, Business History and Corporate Governance: An International Review. She is also the co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Business Groups, Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2010, and Business Groups in the West: Origins, Evolution, and Resilience, Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2018.
