A double degree is a study program based on an agreement between Kyoto University and an overseas university in which both universities grant their own degree to participating students provided they satisfy each university’s completion requirements. Compared to a conventional degree at a single university, a double degree program has significant extra value, providing participants with additional high-quality learning and mobility opportunities.
International Double Doctoral Degree Programme with University of Glasgow
An international doctoral double degree programme in Economic and Business History was launched in 2018 by the Graduate School of Economics at Kyoto University and the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow (UK).
On this four-year doctoral programme, participating graduate students study and research for two years at each university, receiving research supervision from faculty members at both Kyoto and Glasgow Universities. Participating doctoral students obtain a doctorate from each university,subject to the successful examination of their doctoral thesis.
