Special Lecture:Economic Development in Asia

[Description]
This course will provide students with an overview of the theoretical, historical and empirical studies
of economic development mainly in Asia but also in some other regions from an international comparative perspective.
The course will focus especially on good governance for the sustainability of development.
In highlighting market structures, it will show how neoclassical economics is poorly equipped for
explaining some issues in development and what kind of alternative tools can be utilized.
This course is designed for any and all graduate students with an interest in the non-linear
understanding of economic development, including students in the International Graduate Programme
for East Asia Sustainable Economic Development Studies. The language of instruction will be English.
